The request

Develop a casual game for the loyalty section of F.C. Internazionale Milano®'s website, exclusively for their subscribers. Entrusted by one of the world’s most iconic football teams, our goal was to create a unique and enjoyable gaming experience that celebrates the Nerazzurri fans and keeps them closely connected to their favourite team.

The challenge

Our challenge was to make the game as engaging and visually appealing as possible. To do this, we chose to recreate all the players selected for the season in a caricatured style. This decision added a touch of lightness and fun, making the characters instantly recognisable. Additionally, to enhance the gameplay dynamics, we introduced upgrades like the fireball, which increased the excitement and unpredictability of the challenges, ensuring an exciting gaming experience.

The insight

Casual games are an excellent strategy for engaging audiences in a fun and light-hearted way, giving fans the opportunity to enjoy themselves while staying connected with their favourite team. This type of experience strengthens the bond between the club and its supporters, creating enjoyable moments that fuel passion and brand loyalty.

The outcome

We created "Head in the Game," an exclusive four-level gaming experience set on the San Siro pitch, featuring the Nerazzurri players as the stars. Developed using Phaser, an open-source HTML5 framework, the casual game is designed for easy access on both desktop and mobile. Users can choose their favourite player and challenge opponents, kicking and heading towards goal while defending their own. Thanks to our seamless integration within Inter's platform, fans can play while remaining fully immersed in the club's digital ecosystem, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience without ever leaving the familiar club environment.
